Dead Dialect Podcast
The flagship podcast, hosted by Brandon Clements and Julian Lara. Featuring a guest every episode, this show looks to get in depth with folks from Houston and beyond over a proven and age old method: good conversation.
We welcome back rapper and our good friend Kyle Hubbard back to the podcast. Kyle is fresh off the release of his newest album, All Good Things Come, which was widely considered to be Houston's top album of 2017. Sit with us as we discuss the album, Star Wars, and his upcoming move to Arkansas.
On this episode of Dead Dialect, we welcome Jake Rawls and Brad Gray from the Regular Dude Report, a Houston-based podcast and arguably our brother podcast. These dudes are fun, interesting, and hard-working. Houston podcasts unite!
We sit down with Houston legend Mark Austin. Whether it is through The Suffers, The Tontons, his photography, or his magnificent beard, you know who Mark Austin is.
Brandon and rapper Guilla break down the latest film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy along with Alex Damon of Star Wars Explained. Let's get down!
James Templeton is a musician, producer, and something of a pioneer for Houston's current music scene and artistic community due to his tenure as the bassist for legendary experimental math band, By The End of Tonight. Taking on a new identity in the electronic natured "LIMB", James is finding new ways to allow people to listen and experience music, pushing boundaries on that a live show should be, and expanding his brand across various forms of visual and audio media.
Another festival down! Dead Dialect brings you the experience of some of the top names in the ultra stacked lineup at Float Fest '17 in San Marcos, TX. Cage the Elephant guitarist Nick Bockrath as well as Tom Putnam and Spencer Thomson of Moon Taxi all guest on the show to talk about their experiences at the fest, their work, and passions.
In our first ever in-studio video podcast, we welcome back Derrick "The Black Beast" Lewis. A Houston based MMA fighter, Derrick is a main player in the UFC's heavyweight division, sitting at #6, on a six streak tear, and a stones throw away for fighting for a championship belt. He headlines his own fight card against Mark Hunt in New Zealand on June 11th 2017.
Jacob Rodriguez is a multi-instrumentalist from Handsomebeast. He is also a founder, a lead producer, and engineer at King Benny Productions, one of Houston's leading recording studios. He also happens to be one of Brandon's best friends. In July, they took a big road trip to New Mexico and Colorado and recorded a podcast on the side of a mountain in Crested Butte, Colorado. This is that podcast.
Whit is a band comprised of McCullough Ferguson, Bob Lane, Chico Vela, and Madison Whitaker. This podcast was recorded in the green room of The Secret Group, a music venue/comedy club/bar in Houston, Texas, and one of our favorite spots on the planet. Recorded during our "Friends With Benefits" event which benefit Planned Parenthood. Thanks again to Whit for playing the show and joining us on Dead Dialect!
